I'm not sure who coined this phrase...but it's 100% accurate. Dogs respond in one of these four states, to almost all situations.



Here's the equation.



An over-excited frantic dog comes flying into your space and starts climbing all over your dog, unable to control itself. Your dog responds in one of these four ways.



Fight...your dogs snaps, bites, pins or shows aggression towards the dog



Flight...your dogs simply runs in the opposite direction



Avoidance...your dog keeps itself far back from the other dog and waits



Submission...your dog just stands there, or lies down and tolerates the frantic invader.
